What is ZDayZ?
ZDayZ is a southeast regional event for Datsun/Nissan Z-car enthusiasts.  The main focus of ZDayZ is driving, but there are plenty of activities for all kind of Z-enthusiasts!

When is ZDayZ?
ZDayZ at Tail of the Dragon takes place the weekend prior to Memorial Day each year.  This year's event will begin at noon, Friday, May 16th and continue through weekend.  Official dates for ZDayZ are May 16-18, 2008.

Where does ZDayZ take place?
Our host location for ZDayZ is Fontana Village Resort in the scenic NC mountains.  Fontana Village is approximately 90 miles west of Asheville, NC on NC-28 near Fontana and Robbinsville, NC.  The large resort grounds and proximity to Highway 129 make it the perfect spot for a sports car meet.

What happens at ZDayZ?
... stays at ZDayZ.  But seriously, ZDayZ activities are arranged to attract all kind of Z enthusiasts.  Though the primary focus is driving, other events allow Z-owners to show their cars, discuss mods, learn about detailing, and more.  See our pictures from previous ZDayZ events to get an idea of happens ZDayZ weekend.

Why 3 days?
Simply put, anything less than three days would not allow attendees to get the most out of ZDayZ activities and driving the local roads (including multiple trips along the infamous Tail of the Dragon!).  Three days allows visitors to enjoy more roads and, as a positive byproduct, gives us time to organize more activities for those who want to participate in a little more than just driving!

Is there a charge to attend?
Yes.  Information about registration can be found on our Registration page.  General registration includes access to all ZDayZ activities, eligibility to win prizes donated by our sponsors, a ZDayZ event tee shirt, and your ZDayZ Welcome Packet.  Additional shirts will be available for purchase at the event for anyone who would like more than one.  There are also separate charges for Friday and Saturday dinners.  The dinners are individual activities and you are free to attend one, both, or neither as you like.  We make every effort to keep all ZDayZ costs low so we can pass the savings along to ZDayZ attendees.  We feel you will be hard pressed to find a better value event for the total expenditure you make attending ZDayZ!

How do I book a room for the event?
Contact Fontana Village Resort reservations by calling 1-800-849-2258.  Let them know you are booking a room for ZDayZ at Tail of the Dragon to receive our group rate discount!  Fontana was already filling up by mid-January, so be sure to book your room early!  If Fontana Village has no rooms available, you can find lodging at a number of other nearby hotels and resorts.  Check our Lodging page for a list of nearby locations.

2. You should also keep an eye on various Z-car and Nissan web forums.  The ZDayZ organizers frequent many of the Z-car forums on the web.  When possible, we will post news and answer questions on those forums.

Can I bring a G35 to ZDayZ?
Absolutely!  We consider the G35 a close cousin to the 350Z and welcome G35 owners to participate in ZDayZ.  In fact, it is not unusual to see a few Fairlady roadsters, Altimas, and even other makes of cars which are brought by friends of ZDayZ attendees.  The event is open to all who drive or love Z-cars!

How many people attend ZDayZ
The last two ZDayZ attracted well over 400 people and 250 Z-Cars and G35s!  If room bookings are any indication, ZDayZ 2008 will be even bigger!

Is it true there will be no ZDayZ car show in 2008?
Yes.  For a variety of reasons, we have removed the car show from the schedule this year.  This does not mean the show is gone for good.  We may bring it back at future ZDayZ events.  One of the reasons we removed the car show is because ZDayZ was started more as a meet, greet, and drive event.  The car show kind of departs from this philosophy since those participating must devote a lot of time to show prep.  Wwe thought we would try to shift the emphasis back to the fantastic mountain roads and just hanging out with others in the Z community.  Rest assured there will be plenty of other great activities both on the roads and at Fontana Village to fill your time.  Another consideration was resources necessary to run the car show.  Whether you are aware or not, it takes a lot of extra planning and an enormous amount of people to pull off a great car show.  Instead of focusing heavily on one activity, we can now spread that planning and resource time out to more activities, giving attendees more choices of things to do.  Finally, removing the car show means an Awards Dinner is not necessary on Saturday.  This allows us to make the dinners separate activities which people can choose to attend or not to attend at their leisure.  We feel the changes will enhance the ZDayZ experience and hope you will agree after ZDayZ 2008 has ended.

What does registration include?
